Note from Shelia,
Greetings,
This issue is dedicated to celebrating the act of giving. Christmas in July is the theme as a reminder that giving is something to be done all year, not just holidays. It also speaks of giving from the heart.
One of my most enjoyable acts of giving is when I gift my family with a journey to Egypt. I do this because spending time and especially a vacation together is something we will continue to treasure. Whether it is one of my daughters or one of my grandchildren, each has returned with an appreciation for the country, its people,
and the amazing temples and ancient structures. Plus, they can’t wait to return!
I was also reminded of a beautiful gifting story from one of Luminati’s first travelers. She shared with me how she gifted her best friend with the journey to Egypt. She did this because her friend could not afford it at the time. “Besides” she told me, “Who better to share this awesome experience with than my best
friend!” For these reasons, I encourage you, to gift someone special with a trip of a lifetime. Here are just a few exciting journeys coming up:
“The Power of Sacred Sound” Journey with Mark Patterson (Oct 5-18, 2008).
“The Temple of Human” Reiki & Art Journey with Tania Marie and Mykal Aubry (Dec 3-13, 2008)
“Follow the Holy Family Trail” with Best Selling Author, Paul Perry (Jan 11-24, 2009)
Appropriately too, the series on the Ancient Mystery Schools continues with an article about Karnak Temple, which is associated with the heart chakra. Also, don’t miss the News from Egypt for some interesting facts about Ancient Egyptians.
In Oneness,

Note: Continuing the series of articles on the Ancient Mystery School in Egypt, this month highlights Karnak Temple. Appropriately this issue is dedicated to Christmas in July and about giving from the heart, and Karnak is associated with the heart chakra.
Karnak: Temple of the Heart
By Samone Myers
Known in Egypt as Ipet-isut, meaning 'Most Select of Places', Karnak was built and enlarged over a period of thirteen hundred years. Ancient Egyptians considered Ipet-Isut as the place of the majestic rising of the first time, where Amon-Ra made the first mound of Earth rise from Nun. The temple complex as show in the photo
on the right is located in east-central Egypt on the right bank of the Nile River in ancient Thebes. Its majestic pharaonic remains include the Great Temple of Amon-Ra with massive structures begun by Amenhotep III, or more commonly known as Akhenaten.
One of the most remarkable features of Karnak is what is called the Great Hypostyle Hall. Consisting of a forest of 134 columns that are 80 feet high, every square inch was carved
with hieroglyphs. Even more amazing is the fact that color, which can still be seen today in places, was made by crushed gemstones. An illustration of what this hall may have originally looked like is shown on the left.
The location of Karnak Temple by present-day Luxor is considered the heart of Egypt. In addition to being a bridge between upper and lower Egypt, during the Ancient Mystery Schools, the Holy of Holy Sanctuary at Karnak was associated with the heart chakra. The heart is the 4th chakra. It is the bridge between the upper
three and lower three chakras. As the bridge, by balancing one’s heart chakra, other chakras can be balanced. Its color is green. Another attribute is that its color is green. Green stands in the center of the scale of seven colors. It is at the core between the thermal or heating and expanding colors of red, orange and yellow, and the electrical contracting
colors of blue, indigo and violet.
Opening the heart chakra or unblocking the heart can benefit the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. The heart chakra is related to love, equilibrium, and well-being. It is linked to the thymus, located in the chest. This organ is part of the immune system, as well as being part of the endocrine system. It produces
T cells responsible for fighting off disease, and is adversely affected by stress. Signs of blockages in the front and back of this chakra are easily identified. For instance, if a person gives and gives, and rarely receives, this is an indication that the heart chakra is open in the front and closed in the back. Or the opposite if a person takes and takes, but never gives back most likely has an open heart chakra in the back, but closed in the front. Further symptoms of a closed chakra manifest as
immune system or heart problems, or a lack of compassion.
 An effective exercise for
unblocking your heart chakra is to visualize in the center of your chest a lotus flower that is closed, opening. The ancient meaning for lotus is ‘purity of the heart and mind.’ Just like the columns at Karnak that are shaped like closed and open lotus flowers , the temple designers did this intentionally related to the opening of the heart. Also, a relatively unknown fact is the pure white lotus flower is the only plant to fruit and flower simultaneously. Its emergence from the depths of muddy swamp water each day hints metaphorically of the opening of the chakras and our own ascension.
Other exercises and energy work [1] on the heart chakra can be done prior to visiting Karnak Temple to maximize the benefit of doing sacred ceremony in its sanctuary. [2] To further
enhance the energies during the heart ceremony, perform the tone of F (Fa sound). In addition, Karnak is built such that the Winter Solstice sun rises to shine directly down the center of the sanctuary and main axis as depicted in the photo on the left. Even gazing at the image, it draws you in, and beacons you to stand before the rising sun in the sanctuary. It is no wonder that the word ‘solstice’ comes from the latin sol stetit, which means "sun stands still" because during ceremony in the
Holy of Holies, time and space cease to exist.

Noteworthy
Noteworthy - A visit to Karnak Temple is not complete without experiencing the Sekhmet Chapel. Akheneten commissioned 572 statues of the Goddess Sekhmet for the Karnak Complex. Considering he brought the message of One Creator, this speaks miles about whom and what Lady Sekhmet represents to humanity. Most statues have
since been removed, and many can be seen in the Cairo Museum. However, one very important statue remains. It is made from black granite inside the chapel. It is respected by the Egyptians. This is due in part to many believing the energy of Lady Sekhmet is present inside the statue, and others witnessing the statue move; a phenomena called, Hanu. Come see for yourself! Luminati Travelers are able to spend private time in the chapel. More times than not, those who give their fears over to the ‘Mother of All Gods,’
exit weeping tears of joy.

Did the Great Pyramids' Builders Use Concrete?
By Colin Nickerson, The Boston Globe, April 23, 2008
Cambridge, Massachusetts: It is a theory that gives indigestion to mainstream archaeologists. Namely, that some of the immense blocks of the Great Pyramids of Egypt
might have been cast
from synthetic material - the world's first concrete - not just carved whole from quarries and lugged into place by armies of toilers. Such an innovation would have saved millions of man-hours of grunting and heaving in construction of the enigmatic edifices on the Giza Plateau.
"It could be they used less sweat and more smarts," said Linn Hobbs, professor of materials science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology."Maybe the ancient Egyptians didn't just leave us mysterious monuments and mummies. Maybe they invented concrete 2,000 years before the Romans started using it
in their structures." That is a notion that would dramatically change engineering history. It has long been believed that the Romans were the first to employ structural concrete in a big way, although the technology may have come from the Greeks. A handful of determined materials scientists are carrying out experiments with crushed limestone and natural binding chemicals - materials that would have been readily available to ancient Egyptians - designed to show that blocks on the upper reaches of the pyramids
may have been cast in place from a slurry poured into wooden molds.
These researchers at labs in Cambridge, Philadelphia and St. Quentin, France, are trying to demonstrate that ancient Egyptians could have been the true inventors of the poured substance that is humanity's most common building material. (For full article, click
here)
Validations that the stones, which make up the Great Pyramid are poured concrete also come from research done by Professor Joseph Davidovits, Author, The Pyramids: An Enigma Solved, and an independent laboratory result in Paris as reported by The Observer, December 30, 2001.

Ancient Document in Cairo Synagogue Confirms Genesis and More…
July 9, 2008 Excerpt from George Filers', Filer’s Files #28
Discovered fifty years ago in an old synagogue in Cairo, "The Zadokite Document" confirms Genesis and mentions the landing of Spacemen, their giant offspring and immorality. "Because they walked in the stubbornness of their hearts, the Watchers of heaven fell, they were caught thereby because they kept not
the Commandments of God. So too their Sons whose height was like the lofty cedars and whose bodies were as mountains. They also fell." (Scriptures Section translated by Theodore H. Gaster). Their visits have often been interpreted in religious terms, but the data is essentially truthful and often the best we have. Biologists search for protoplasm in ancient primordial soup. Archaeologists seek man's origin in the mud while others search with shining eyes for our home in the stars.

GIZA: A Second Sphinx?
Two Sphinxes existed on the Giza Plateau, according to a new study by Egyptologist Bassam El Shammaa. El Shammaa said the famed half-lion, half man statute was an Egyptian deity erected next to another Sphinx, which has since vanished without a trace. This theory, however, is in contradiction to the general belief that
a single colossal statue functioned as a guard to the pyramids.
El Shammaa said the idea of two Sphinxes is more in line with ancient Egyptian beliefs, which were mainly based on duality. "The pyramid texts recovered at Saqqara, especially from the Wanis Pyramid, contain descriptions of the ancient Egyptian conception of how the universe was created. Basically, this concept
underlined the belief in duality," El Shammaa said. "Whenever we have to deal with the Solar cult, we should speak of one lion and one lioness facing each other, posing parallel to each other or sitting in a back-to-back position."
"The double avenue of the ram-headed Sphinxes fronting the first Karnak pylon and its counterpart of human-headed Sphinxes at the Temple of Luxor emphasise this duality, alongside other indications like the double crowns of Upper and Lower Egypt, Isis, Osiris, Habtoor and Horus," elaborated El Shammaa. He said
ancient Egyptian records and mythology suggested that lightening destroyed part of the Sphinx, adding that this might be in reference to the second Sphinx, which was eliminated after a curse by the chief Egyptian deity.
"Utterance No. 600 says that Atum - the 'complete one' and creator god in ancient Egyptian mythology - created his son Shu and daughter Tefnut, shaping them as a lion and a lioness and placing each one on an extreme tip of the universe," he said. "Shu was to take the solar disc between his jaws and hand
it to his sister Tefnut who in turn would capture it between her jaws and by so doing they would achieve the full cycle of the Sun," he added.
