DETAILED ITINERARY

Travel Day: Sunday, October 12, Depart USA
For those traveling with us internationally, we will leave JFK International Airport in NY City on Egypt Air for Cairo at 6:30 PM CST.  Please, arrange to arrive at least 3 hours in advance. This is an overnight flight.

Day One: Monday, October 13,  Arrive Cairo, Egypt    Welcome Home!
On our arrival, we will be greeted, given our Egyptian Visas, and assisted through immigration and customs by Quest Travel, our affiliates in Egypt.  Then we will be escorted to the Le Passage Heliopolis Hotel near the airport.  This evening we will meet as a group to discuss the itinerary, training, lecture times and questions. Dinner on our own.

Day Two: Tuesday, October 14, Nile Cruise / Feluca Ride / Usui Reiki Level One Attunements / Group Gathering
This morning we will have an early flight to Aswan to connect with our Nile Cruise aboard the beautiful MS Sonesta Sun Goddess. After settling into our rooms we will begin our Usui Reiki Level One training with a lecture, table time, and ending meditation.  Around sunset we will venture onto the Nile for a felucca ride which is an Egyptian sailboat. After our ride we will have an opportunity to visit the Aswan market place with its unique smells and sounds.

Day Three: Wednesday, October 15, Philae / Kom Ombo / Group Gathering
Rising early, we will go to the ‘lake shore’ to visit the Temple of Isis on the Island of Philae.  You will love the healing energy of Isis and her lovely island complex.  The Temple of Isis brings forth the life force of the first charka. The temple sanctuary is a wonderful place to have a special ceremony and meditation.  The Sun Goddess sails right after lunch for Kom Ombo.  Kom Ombo is a famous healing temple in ancient days and now a gloriously picturesque edifice and energy filled temple overlooking a bend in the Nile. Here we will focus on the physical aspects of the second charka. This is the only known temple dedicated to two gods, Horus and Seth.  On an outside wall, pictures of surgical equipments that are used today can be seen.  We continue cruising through the countryside to Edfu. This evening after a peaceful meditation, our group will create a circle to share experiences, insights and questions.

Day Four: Thursday, October 16, Edfu / Usui Reiki Level Two Attunements Ceremony
The Temple of Edfu is our destination this morning.  It is known as the most preserved temple of its time.  The temple celebrates the legendary battle between Horus and Seth.   Some say that one wall holds the first novel on good and evil ever written. Here we will explore the third charka energy of strength and personal power.  Next the Sun Goddess sails on to Luxor where many of the worlds known antiquities are found.  On the way, we gather together with Sue and Hillary for a lecture and meditation followed by the Usui Reiki Level Two Attunement Ceremony.   B / L / D

Day Five: Friday, October 17,  Abydos / Dendera / Usui Reiki Level Three Attunement Ceremony
An early start this morning is necessary in order to meet our convoy to the sacred Temple of Seti I in Abydos.   We will drive through the countryside and observe the life in the villages along the way. Pilgrims have been coming to Abydos for thousands of years. It has seven sanctuaries dedicated to Seti 1, Ptah, Harakhte, Amun Ra, Osiris, Isis, and Horus.  You can also feel the energy of Thoth, the God of Wisdom. In the back of the temple is the Osirian. The age of the Osirian is unknown but some speculate it could be as old as 10,000 years. There is also one of first known depictions of the Flower of Life.  On our way back to Luxor we will stop at Dendera, the Temple of Hathor, the mistress of the cycle of time, the Goddess of Love, Joy, and Dance. It is truly a magnificent temple to behold with chapels, chambers, staircases, and columns.  A crypt that we will visit gives new meaning to ‘let there be light’.  Our ride back to Luxor will give us time to contemplate our experience.  This evening after dinner we will gather for a lecture and meditation with a Level Three Attunement Ceremony. Day Six: Saturday, October 18, West Bank / Luxor Temple
This morning our group will visit the Valley of the Kings, where the magnificent hieroglyphic reliefs depict the journey of the Pharoah through the underworld to the land of Ra.  Next we will see the Funerary of Queen Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, an alabaster factory and have a fabulous lunch at the Africa Café. It’s time to say goodbye to the MS Sonesta Sun Goddess and hello to the Mövenpik Luxor Hotel on Crocodile Island in the Nile River.  Our gathering for today will include a discussion regarding plans for the Usui Master Teacher Attunement, ceremony, questions and partner work. This evening we will visit the illuminated Temple of Luxor also called the Temple of Man. This is the only monument in the world that includes Pharaonic, Ptolemaic, Roman, Christian, and Islamic constructions.    B / L   

Day Seven: Sunday, October 19, Karnak / Cairo Museum / Usui Master Teacher Attunement
At sunrise, our guide will take us to Karnak, the Temple of the Invisible God, Ra. In this extraordinary temple we will experience the blending of our third and fourth charkas.  Karnak was a place of gathering to discuss politics and religions of the day.  Here big deals were done and spirit was honored.  We will also visit the Chapel of Sekhmet, the Goddess of Personal Power for ceremony. Sehkment, the Lion Goddess, discovered here weaknesses, changed her energy, and became a divine healer.  After a short flight back to Cairo, we will visit the Egyptian Musuem.with its unparalleled collection of masterpieces dating back to 4000 BC or more.  We will explore King Tut’s priceless golden treasures, unique artifacts left by Ahkenaton, and other works by the master artisans of the Old Kingdom.  After the museum our adventure takes us to Old Cairo for lunch and the Khan El Khalili marketplace.  While we enjoy Old Cairo our bags will be transferred to the Le Meridien Pyramids Hotel near the Giza Plateau, home of the Sphinx and Pyramids. After dinner on your own, we will gather as a group for the Usui Master Teacher Attunement Ceremony.    B / L

Day Eight: Monday, October 20, Saqqara / Dahshur
We travel today to the Old Kingdom Necropolis of Saqqara with its Step Pyramid.  This complex was built in the 3rd Dynasty by Pharaoh Djoser.  This special place holds the energy of the 5th chakra and is known as the space of tones. Activating our 5th center will allow our voices to be heard through the initiation on sound.  Our next stop will be the fabulous Tombs of the Nobles with their vivid symbolic reliefs depicting everyday life in ancient Egypt.  They are so well preserved that one wonders how they could have survived for over 4,000 years. On our way back, we will stop at a carpet factory to see the traditional art of hand weaving silk and wool into gorgeous carpets.  Lunch will be provided at a typical Egyptian restaurant where they serve hot delicious pita bread, salads, and shish-kabob.  B / L

Day Nine: Tuesday, October 21,  Giza Plateau
We will start our day by paying respect to the Sphinx, the great lion sentinel of the plateau with its carved body of a lion and the head of a Pharaoh.  We then visit the Giza Plateau. Today we will have our optional private visit in the Great Pyramid inside the Kings Chamber. After our ceremony we will gather outside on the plateau in circle to assimilate and share our experiences.  This afternoon is for packing and getting ready for home.  Tonight will be our very special farewell dinner and you will be presented with your certificates. Day Ten: Wednesday, October 22, Farewell to Egypt, Return Home
Farewell to our new friends and beautiful Egypt.  Please, come back!

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a name for the life force energy inherent in all beings, and the formal name for the energy therapy treatment through which we experience it. The Japanese word Reiki is comprised of two kanji (Japanese pictographs) - Rei and Ki. Rei means universal or spiritual. Ki means life force energy. Together they mean Spiritually Guided Universal Life Force Energy. Reiki therapy is simply described as a non-invasive relaxation or stress reduction technique that promotes self-healing.

What is an Attunement?
A Reiki Teacher will pass or transfer the ability to channel Reiki energy during a simple individual ceremony with the student. The Attunement process clears the energy centers (Chakra's) of the student to enable the energy pathway.

How does Reiki heal?
Everything around us, including ourselves is made of energy. We are alive because life force energy "Ki" is flowing through us. In our body, the energy flows through pathways called Chakra's, meridians and auras. When the energy flows freely and balanced, the body is healthy. When the flow of energy is disrupted or blocked, it causes reduced functioning or illness in the body. As Reiki energy is introduced into the body, it identifies the disruption of the body's energy flow. It then gently clears the blockages, facilitating the body's natural healing process.

Reiki and Egypt
The ancient Egyptians were pioneers in the energy bodies that existed within the human vehicle. Their magic and medicine included all elements of being. Many of the temples in Egypt were dedicated to the energy of the body.  Each aspect of our being was represented in the energy of specific gods and goddess.  Isis brings out the mother creator aspect and her temple in Philea vibrates with the energy of the first charka. Two temples along the Nile, Edfu and Kom Ombo, were dedicated to aspects within us that resonate to the second charka moving into the third charka. In the chapel of Sekhmet our energy goes through a transformation into a field of personal power moving from the third charka to the fourth.  Luxor is directly connected to the fourth charka, emanating divine unconditional love. The energy of Hathor embodied the aspect of joy, music, and dance in each of us. Her temple in Dendara vibrates with the energy of the fifth charka as does the energy of Saqqara in the Delta. The Step Pyramid complex was considered a sound temple of healing and initiation in the ancient times. We have to remember the powerful energy of the Giza Plateau, home of the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid. In the Queens Chamber of the Great Pyramid, our sixth charka vibrates and opens within us the true ability for healing and magic. In the Kings Chamber we feel the energy of initiation activating the seventh charka.  The Nile River herself reminds us of the beautiful feminine energy of mother earth and reminds us how to go with the flow of life.  Egypt is magic and the power of this sacred place will stimulate many aspects of being.

As you travel through the mystical lands of Egypt, you will be Attuned in and taught Usui Reiki levels 1, 2, 3 and Master Teacher during the first week.

As we move into the second half of our journey we will begin our work with Karuna Reiki. You will be attuned and certified in levels 1 and 2 and ending with the Karuna Master Teacher Attunement ceremony inside the Great Pyramid.

As we move through our journey there will lectures, meditations, circle time, reiki share and learning the reiki symbols for all levels of Usui and Karuna as we move through ancient temples, cruise up the Nile and Lake Nasser.

All participants with be certified in Usui and Karuna as a Master Teacher. Two separate certifications.

You will be taught to use the Reiki symbols for self healing, hands on healing, personal well being, and to promote peace and serenity in all areas of your life.
