History of Pyramid in Egypt
Giza's Cheops pyramids and the Sphinx were constructed in the fourth dynasty of Egypt's Old Kingdom, by the Egyptian pharaoh Khufu. The great pyramid of Egypt is believed to have been built over a 20 year period. The Great Pyramid is enclosed, together with the other pyramids and the Sphinx, in the touristic region of the Giza Plateau.
Each pyramid in Egypt has a mortuary temple and a valley temple linked by long causeways. The site was first prepared, and blocks of stone were transported and placed. An outer casing was then used to smooth the surface. Giza's Cheops pyramids are oriented to face the four cardinal directions: north, south, east, and west. All the entrances are on the north side, and the temples of the pyramids
are on the east side.

About Ancient Egypt Pyramid Tour
Stay at the luxurious Mena House Oberoi Hotel across from the Pyramids of Giza. The day starts by paying respect to the Sphinx, the great lion sentinel of the plateau with its great carved body of a lion and the head of a Pharaoh. Venture into the Giza Plateau and view the Cheops pyramid, largest of the pyramids, the Great Pyramid of Egypt. It contains 2.5 million blocks of stone and measures
145 meters high. The second largest pyramid, Chephren, still keeps a portion of its outer casing stone giving an idea of how most of the pyramids looked when first built. Mycerinus, called the divine pyramid, is the smallest on the plateau. Have your optional private ceremony in the Great Pyramid inside the King and Queens Chambers.
